Happenings at the Carlsbad Public Library

Over 100 library visitors attended the recent holiday crafting party at Carlsbad Public Library on December 5th. This annual children’s activity is hosted by the library each December. Guests enjoy holiday music, books,  and sweet treats provided by the library staff during the come-and-go event. Attendees are welcome to make several holiday crafts to take home; this year’s crafts included a jingle bell necklace, a pair of pom-pom mittens, a colorful star decorated with buttons, a clothespin snowman, and gift tags made from recycled greeting cards. Participants were also invited to hang an ornament on the children’s department Christmas tree.

Two children won holiday LEGO sets in a random drawing held Dec. 14 during LEGO Club at Carlsbad Public Library. Pictured (l-r) are Brilyn Baker, age 5, daughter of Sarah and Jarred Baker, and Aiden Davis, age 4, daughter of Courtney Rogers and John Davis.

The holiday-themed sets featured Santa Claus and his elves, and were donated to the library by the Poppen family. The LEGO Club meets once a month during the school year, and weekly during the summer.
