The Octavia Fellin Public Library in Gallup is hiring a Youth Services Manager:
Manages the overall youth services department and oversees the development of library collections for the department. Assure that children’s and young adult library materials are properly cataloged, circulated, and shelved, and are easily available for patron use. Assist library customers of all ages in locating answers to questions in person, by telephone and via email using the variety of available resources, including but not limited to print and non-print materials and electronics databases. Select children’s and young adult materials in accordance with the needs and interests of the library’s diverse community and the Collections Development Plan. Instruct and advise customers in the use of the online catalog system, classification system, online databases, and the evaluation of Internet resources, the use of personal communication devices to access library resources, and any other available resources. Perform readers’ advisory work. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring expenditures. Works closely with schools, daycare centers and other community programs directly related to children and young adults. Works closely with the Adult Services Manager to coordinate library services and programs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary range is $18.76–19.52.
