Espanola Public Library Holds Toy Drive

On September 24, 2017 the Española Public Library held a Lowrider & Classic Car Toy Drive. Local lowriders and classic cars gathered at the Española Public Library in support of the library’s annual Operation Christmas Cheer toy drive. Operation Christmas Cheer provides toys to children 2-12 years of age and families who are less fortunate to provide gifts for their children. The Española Public Library gives away approximately 250-300 toys to children per year.

This year Española Public Library staff members coordinated with Joan & Arthur Medina, and Low Low’s Lowrider Art Place. Lowriders who wanted to show their cars were asked to donate two toys to the event, from 1:00-5:00 pm there were over 50 lowriders, food, and music. The event brought in a total of 140 toys for Operation Christmas Cheer.
