Youth Services Spring Professional Development Workshops

Explora Science Museum and the New Mexico State Library are offering 3 new professional  development for workshops this spring for public library staff in New Mexico on utilizing the STEM to Read program.

Integrating STEM and Literacy into Library Programs
Explora workshop for Librarians

Simple everyday objects and materials will be part of they fun, thought provoking workshop full of science activities integrated with literature and math which you can use in your library. Using the theme of space, light, and shadows, we’ll take an inquiry approach to learning. You’ll engage with actual materials while building your skills for supporting and facilitating science learning and literacy in your library. You’ll then have the opportunity to develop your own activity for children 0-5 years of age and their adults that you can immediately use in your library programming.

10 am – 2:30 pm
We’ll have a 30 minute break for lunch. Please bring a sack lunch:

  • Friday, March 22nd @ Loma Colorado Main Library (Rio Rancho)
  • Tuesday, March 26th @ Bayard Public Library
  • Thursday, March 28th @ Hobbs Public Library
