It’s that time of year in public libraries where patrons come in with their new devices — kindles, iPads, tablets, phones — and ask for assistance in how to use them, or what to do with them, or where to go to find stuff to download.

Lifehack has compiled quite a nice list of 20 sources of free books (even comic books!) available for download on an iPad.  So point your patrons here, or better yet, post it on your website or computer desktops so that your patrons can easily choose for themselves:  Lifehack’s list of twenty free sources for eBooks for the iPad

About Technocrat

interested in the trivia, the minutiae, the particulars of every day life... no fact too small to consider tucking away and coming back to later, pulling it up to illustrate a point. suffice to say, librarianship been very, very good to me.

I also like Gizmo’s List of 913 free e-book download sites here: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-ebooks-online.htm . Some of the sites listed are very limited, but the range is amazing. Gizmo’s comments on the links and what they offer are clear and helpful.
