This year I am pleased to announce that Kathy Barco will be presenting our summer reading workshops!

  • Monday, December 8  @ Bosque Farms Public Library
  • Thursday, December 11 @ Las Cruces, Thomas Branigan Memorial Library
  • Friday, December 12 @ Roswell Public Library
  • Friday, December 19 @ Santa Fe Public Library – Southside Branch
  • Tuesday, December 16 @ Laguna Public Library
  • Extra! SRP Workshop/NE Directors’ meeting*
    Tuesday, January 27 @ Cimarron – Philmont Scout Ranch
    (*this meeting will be led by yours truly, Ryanne Cooper of the State Library Staff)

TIME:
Workshops will be 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM with a one-hour break for lunch.

About Kathy:

A former children’s librarian, she recently retired from the position of Literacy Coordinator at ABC Library. Kathy was Youth Services Coordinator at the New Mexico State Library from 2001-2006.

Kathy is a librarian extraordinaire!  Her many accomplishments include:

  • Recipient of the 2006 Leadership Award from the New Mexico Library Association
  • Author of READiscover New Mexico – A Tri-Lingual Adventure in Literacy , recipient of the 2008 New Mexico Book Award.
  • Co-author (with Valerie Nye) of three books, including True Stories of Censorship Battles in America’s Libraries
