LIS eBooks: New Mexico Reads

Attention Librarians of New Mexico! The New Mexico State Library is pleased to offer a new eBook resource — New Mexico Reads. Good news for librarians — New Mexico Reads includes some library and information science titles. We included the LIS titles for you, please do use them (and all of the books in New Mexico Reads).

New Mexico Reads primarily includes Southwest history and culture titles and fiction by New Mexico authors or set in the Southwest. It also includes some books on racism in America, and national topics such as the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.

New Mexico Reads is a pilot project and we are gradually rolling it out to different patron groups. Currently, you need to be a registered patron of the New Mexico State Library to check out books from New Mexico Reads. We are now offering access to all library staff in the state. If you don’t have a NMSL library card, please email reference@state.nm.us with your name, email, telephone number, your library name and address. We will set up an account and send your credentials and access information within 1-2 business days.

Any New Mexico resident is eligible to use New Mexico Reads, but we are not yet promoting it for the general public statewide. However, if you have a patron who is eager to read eBooks on New Mexico history, culture, and fiction, please refer them to us at reference@state.nm.us.
