For more information please visit our website: Employment with the State of New MexicoThis position resides at the Rural Bookmobile West and is located in Los Lunas, NM, delivering library services to rural and underserved communities in Southwest New Mexico by driving a 35-foot Bookmobile to designated rural areas, and providing a full range of library services including a circulating collection of books, magazines, and audio-visual materials, reference services, and Interlibrary Loan. Employee supports all aspects of these services both on the Bookmobile and in the Los Lunas office by entering data in an automated library computer system, maintaining patron records, copy-cataloging and processing new materials, ordering and processing Interlibrary Loans, selecting new materials, and statistical record keeping. Employee in this position physically assists patrons getting on an off the Bookmobile with their heavy book bags, ensuring patron safety. Three (3) or four (4)-day-long Bookmobile trips per week result in work schedules that often exceed eight (8) hours per day. Employee shares driving of the Bookmobile with a co-worker. Employee is required to travel two (2) to three (3) weeks of each month. Overnight travel is required two (2) to three (3) nights per week.
This position will not be paid above the mid-point of the pay band. Pay Band.
This position is a Pay Band 45.

Overnight travel is required two to three nights per week. Three (3) or four (4)-day-long Bookmobile trips per week result in work schedules that often exceed eight (8) hours per day. Successful candidate must complete state offered Defensive Driving course prior to operating state vehicle. Must possess and maintain a current and valid Driver’s License. Successful candidate will be subject to background check. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required.Conditions of Employment:
