Position Grade 12
Position Summary The UNM Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center is seeking a Library Services Coordinator for its Resources, Archives, and Discovery unit.   The position requires knowledge of library principles, practices, and terminology and the ability to develop and implement procedures and/or project plans, and excellent communication skills.

The incumbent will report to the Library Operations Manager and will oversee and coordinate electronic resources in the library’s knowledge base/electronic resources management tool as well as maintain usage statistics for these resources. The incumbent is responsible for the administrative duties for serials such as communicating with vendors, change notifications, cancellations, and ceased and new titles.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and prioritizing digitization projects for the library’s special collections or institutional repository.  The incumbent will assist resource management librarians in developing and creating metadata and/or schemas for the library’s digital library management system.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Graduate degree, at time of hire, in library or information science from American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution
  • Knowledge of library principles, practices, and terminology
  • Experience creating metadata and/or schemas for digital library management systems or digital asset management systems such as Digital Commons, DSpace, etc.
  • Experience creating and maintaining records in an integrated library system, electronic resources management tool, or knowledge base such as WorldShare, Sierra, Serial Solutions, etc.
  • Experience working with complex procedures inherent in the structured environment of a higher-education or healthcare institution
  • Ability to effectively communicate and foster a cooperative work environment
  • Experience in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Experience with project management skills and the ability to resolve
    complex problems and issues
