Working Title Library Services Coordinator – DISC
Position Grade 12
Position Summary The Digital Initiatives and Scholarly Communication (DISC) department at the University of New Mexico College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences develops, cultivates, and supports transnational, national and regional digital cultural heritage, scholarly, and education resources. DISC is responsible for the development, maintenance, and promotion of library digital collections including UNM’s Digital Repository, New Mexico Digital Collections, and special collection sites like the Rudolfo Anaya Digital Archive and the Tony Hillerman Portal.

DISC is currently seeking a Library Services Coordinator to:

  • plan and coordinate the development, implementation, and publication of image and multimedia digitization projects to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of DISC;
  • provide and/or coordinate technical guidance, consultation, and related support to campus users and state partners in use of DISC resources;
  • supervise and train DISC student employees working on digitization projects in use of equipment, software, and process workflows;
  • serve as a liaison with library and campus departments, platform vendors and others to support DISC activities and projects;
  • create, produce, and deliver a range of promotional, educational, and informational presentations, and/or resource materials related to DISC activities and initiatives;
  • oversee the collection, compilation, and analysis of department activity data including development and presentation of department reports and evaluations; and
  • perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master’s degree in an arts or humanities discipline or library and information science.
  2. Experience managing image or multimedia digitization projects.
  3. Experience providing technology training and support.
  4. Experience supervising and training employees.
