Position Summary The UNM-Valencia Campus Library is seeking a Library Info Specialist II that assists with the research needs of our students, faculty, staff and community members.  Our mission is to provide student and faculty access to scholarly materials adequate to support the current curriculum along with an environment in which life-long learning is encouraged by responding to the information needs of all users in an interested and caring manner. This individual will assist in the coordination of the day-to-day fiscal and administrative and operational activities of the Library.  The Ideal candidate must be able to coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the Library with student employees.  This individual will have experience using Banner and inter-library loan record keeping.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 credit students per semester.

  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience supervising student employees
  • Experience using Banner.
  • Experience using Inter-library loan record keeping
