The City of Tucumcari is currently accepting applications for the position of Library Director. Under administrative direction of the City Clerk, the Library Director provides strategic leadership, management, organization, direction and supervision of all operations and activities of the City’s public library. The Library Director will demonstrate strong ethical, professional, and service oriented leadership. The Library Director is responsible for the training, performance management, and morale of the library and exercises independent judgment and discretion; develops and administers the library budget; formulates administrative policies and develops comprehensive plans to serve the current and future needs of the City for library resources and information services. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule, be goal and service oriented, and a motivated self starter. The starting salary for this position is $28,766.40. A Grade I Certification issued by the State of New Mexico is preferred. Must have 3 years administrative experience. Experience in a library setting is preferred. Must be able to communicate in an acceptable manner with the staff and the public.
