|Job Summary/Basic Function||Directs the operations of the Santa Fe Community College Library. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.|
|Minimum Qualifications||• Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited university.
• Seven (7) years related experience.
|Preferred Qualifications||• Experience in higher education.
• Experience in supervision, planning, fiscal, budget management and administration of public funds/bonds in an academic library.
|Knowledge, Skills and Abilities||• Knowledge of professional library practices and standards.
• Knowledge of leadership theories and practices.
• Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of college personnel and budget management policies.
• Knowledge of higher education practices and standards.

|Pay Range||$68,111 – $102,166|

|Responsibility/Duty||Leads, directs and manages the Santa Fe Community College Library; provides professional-level leadership and development for all aspects of the professional staff, student employees, and library resources, services, and outreach; supervises, trains, mentors, evaluates and disciplines personnel; determines, approves, and monitors all staff workloads; discusses work related issues and needs with staff members; determines strategies to respond to those needs; provides feedback on job performance; locates, recommends and provides training opportunities for staff; mentors staff in matters related to career development; directs weekly staff meetings.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Develops, implements and administers library budgets in a fiscally responsible and resourceful manner to accomplish strategic library resources and service objectives.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Develops, implements, evaluates, revises and administers all library policies and procedures.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Coordinates the operation and management of the library facility; coordinates maintenance and technology issues with other college departments.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Leads the development and implementation of short- and long-range library plans and goals; directs library development and quality improvement initiatives.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Integrates library services across campus; leads advocacy efforts to advance knowledge of library services to the college community; plans, directs, publicizes and promotes library services and activities.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Prepares annual reports and other statistical data as needed for institutional reporting, accreditation, and state and national organizations.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Remains informed of current developments in library management, library resources, and library services.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Determines, guides, and implements collection development for print, non-print and electronic resources; integrates new and emerging information technologies with traditional library resources and services; oversees the collection, cataloging, maintenance and organization of all library collections; negotiates pricing and terms of agreement with library vendors; determines, locates, orders and acquires all print and non-print resources for the library.|
|Responsibility/Duty||Provides instruction, reference services, and general assistance to library patrons; directs the library’s information literacy program; works with deans, department chairs and faculty to integrate information literacy into the regular classroom; guides the development of library information, including electronic tutorials, print handouts, and presentations; develops and teaches information literacy sessions for staff, faculty and students; develops and delivers presentations to different campus groups; resolves a variety of patron problems.|
