2020 Census: New Mexico is Seeing Success

Taken from email from iCountNM:

Thanks to the dedicated work of complete count committees, community members and local nonprofits, areas across the state are seeing great progress in their census self-response rates!

The following areas have reached or surpassed their 2010 self-response rates: Otero, Grant, Valencia, Los Alamos, Bernalillo, Sandoval, Cochiti Pueblo, Santo Domingo Pueblo, and Jemez Pueblo. Congratulations!

As a state, our self-response rate is currently at a 55.3% — extremely close to our self-response rate target of 60%. Remember, our self-response rate is not our total response rate. Our goal is a complete count, and our self-response rate traditionally accounts for about 60% of that goal.

Thank you for your dedication to making sure everyone is counted. Let’s keep up the momentum!

Share the Census Ambassador Toolkit

Last week, we released the new Census Ambassador Toolkit to encourage community members to increase census participation with their networks of friends, families, colleagues, and neighbors.

Please share it broadly. When we’re all counted, we all benefit. You are the trusted voices in your community and your help will keep census responses rising.

Everyone can take the census today. They can respond:

  • By mail if they received a paper form
  • Online: 2020census.gov
  • By phone with assistance in multiple languages.

English and Spanish Language Customer Service Representatives are available every day from 7am to 2am Eastern Time:

Non-English and Non-Spanish Language Customer Service Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8am to 10 pm Eastern Time:

To help you respond, the Census Bureau also offers web pages and guides in 59 non-English languages, including American Sign Language, as well as guides in Braille and large print.
